Refurbishment and Maintenance

This small suburban church has been gently altered and refurbished to accommodate its congregation and its changing needs.

Constructed in 1910, the church was built with an awkward stepped entry and without any toilet provisions - our brief was to incorporate a level entry, toilet facilities and to undertake refurbishment and maintenance works.

The solution centred on re-orientating the church, extending at both ends of the building and adjusting external levels slightly to achieve level access.

The result has been welcomed by the congregation and has resulted in greater capacity (better use of space) and much improved movement flow.
